Spring has arrived and eventhough the Sprout project is coming to an end it is still the time of new beginnings. Therefore Sprout invites you all to come down to the Partnership Council and help us plant vegetable, herb and flower seeds in our wooden planters to leave behind a beautiful and memorable area full of colour, wildlife and sweet smells at our final event. The session will take place this Thursday 31st March from 2pm to 4pm at the Partnership Council, Tennyson, Unit C, Forest Road West, Radford.  We will be planting a variety of different seeds including a mixture of cornfield and woodland wildflowers to encourage local wildlife such as bees and butterflies to our office garden. Equipment, gloves and light refreshments will be provided. For more information or to book a place please contact Emma or Jabran on 0115 970 8200 or email: sproutnottingham@gmail.com.

10am to 1pm

Sprout are teaming up with Lenton & Dunkirk Partnership Forum and British Waterways to plan a day of action, cleaning up the canal in Dunkirk.

We really need volunteers to join us and make this happen.

Some of the school children from Dunkirk Primary School will be joining us for an hour of the clean up, as it was their school council who identified the mess around the canal as an eyesore and something that they’d like to see improved in the area.

Please get in touch if you can spare a couple hours on Tuesday 15th February from 10am to 1pm to join in with the clear up and make the canal side better for people who visit the canal or live in the area as well as for the wildlife that lives there.

Gloves, equipment and light refreshments will be provided on the day and if you live outside the area and are aged between 16 – 25 years then we can reimburse your travel expenses.

Please join in to make this happen. British Waterways are keen to eventually allow some of the land to be used for growing wild flowers and even fruit and vegetables!!! But first we need to get rid of some of the grot!

Contact rachel@partnershipcouncil.co.uk

Tel: 0115 970 8200 for more information and to let us know if you can make it. We need to get an idea of numbers to expect.
